- : The whole industry suffered. People will happily put up with an old (but
- : functional) Word Processsor rather than buy a new one. Shops refuse to
- : stock Amiga software now as they've all had stock that's been made
- : worthless once the product appears on a magazine, and people aren't even
- : buying new products - waiting instead for the inevitable coverdisk
- : release.
-
- Perhaps I'm the exception, but I have never once rec'd a version of any
- program (aside from PD utils) on a cover disk that remained on my HD for
- any length of time. As a rule, by the time they appear the gui's are
- 'dated', and many of the features have been surpassed or ceased
- functioning with the current WB versions.
-
- They have occassionaly however left me wanting more badly enough to buy
- a program. Esp. if there is a reasonable 'upgrade' offer in the same issue.
